1. Q: I have doubts about the polarity of the printer's interface or power supply connectors.

A: Consult carefully the user manual for the product on the SPRT CD-ROM. If the doubts persist, contact the "Client Technical Support" service on spring@sprinter.com.cn.

2. Q: The printer does not carry out the self-test correctly.

A: Check the voltage level of the power supply source and that it is able to deliver a peak current sufficient to drive the printer correctly during the printing phase.

3. Q: The printer, when powered and connected to the transmission unit (P.C., operator panel, terminal, etc...) does not print anything.

A: Check that the printer carries out the selftest: if it does, check the serial or parallel connection cable, referring to the diagrams shown in the printer's user manual (see CD-ROM). If you have a Centronics serial RS232 or parallel interface, as a further check the printer can be connected to a P.C., addressing some alphanumeric characters followed by the character "CR" (carriage return = OD Hex.) to the printer through a simple Basic program.

4. Q: The printer prints characters which do not correspond to those sent by interface.

A: If you have a serial interface, check the setting of the communication parameters (baud-rate, no. of data bits, parity, stop bits, Xon-Xoff or RTS-CTS protocols, emulation). In the case of parallel interface, check that all the data lines are connected to the transmission unit. Check also that the unit itself is not preset to operate with an "emulation" not supported by the Custom printer in use.

5. Q: The printer does not correctly observe the column formation of the print.

A: Check the number of characters per line (columns) of the printer model in use and check that the transmission unit is not set for a larger number of characters/line (for example 80 columns).

6. Q: The printer does not work correctly in graphic mode.

A: Check that the control characters received by the transmission unit to operate in graphic mode are compatible with those operated by the printer. Check also that the transmission unit is not set to operate with a fixed printer model different from the SPRT model in use.

7. Q: The printer does not work correctly after Windows driver installation.

A: When serial interface, check that both PC side and printer side are set with the same parameters. When parallel interface, check ECP, EPP, NORMAL parameter sets (set NORMAL). Check also that paper roll size parameter and selected printer model are correct during driver installation.
